Wednesday, October 15, St. Christopher's 7th grade football team took on Norfolk Academy on the road. It was a hard fought 6-0 win that ultimately was decided by a DJ Smith touchdown pass to Jay Twine with no time left at the end of the first half.
It was a highly defensive game, including a touchdown-saving forced fumble from Luca Hall recovered by Mac Georgerian at the end of the first quarter. The Saints defense had multiple other sacks.
This important win was summed up by head coach Stephen Lewis: "After a tough game last week with only one practice afterward before this game, the response from the boys is unforgettable. The drive from Norfolk's 6 to score a TD to end the half with no timeouts was uncanny for a 7th grade team. We couldn't be prouder."
The team is looking forward to their rematch against AJC Wednseday, October 22 on Knowles Field at 3:30 pm.
