Afternoon Enrichment

Learning and Exploration beyond the Academic Day

St. Christopher’s Afternoon Enrichment program provides opportunities for learning and exploration beyond the academic day. Classes are open to all students in the Lower School and are offered in three sessions: Fall (September-November), Winter (January-March), and Spring (March-May).

Afternoon Enrichment is a separate program from Extended Day. All Lower School boys are welcome to register for Afternoon Enrichment. Students enrolled in Extended Day will be escorted to their classroom at the end of their Afternoon Enrichment class.

  • Afternoon Enrichment for boys in Kindergarten–2nd Grade

     Begins at 3:30 p.m. (except for Soccer Shots).
  • Boys attending Extended Day

    Go to their Extended Day classrooms at regular school dismissal and will be escorted to their Afternoon Enrichment class from there.
  • Boys NOT attending Extended Day

    Should be picked up as usual in carpool and then returned for Afternoon Enrichment drop-off at 3:30 p.m.

    Unless otherwise noted by an instructor.
  • On days when St. Christopher’s is closed, afternoon enrichment is also closed.

  • Refund requests must be made in writing.

  • 3D Design & Printing

    Grades: 3rd-5th 
    Dates: Wednesdays (8 weeks) September 24-November 12
    Time: 3:30-4:15 p.m.
    Cost: $145
    Carpool Location: Pepper Avenue Carpool Loop

    With Mrs. Richards, boys will explore the basics of 3D design and printing using Tinkercad. Through a variety of self-paced projects, they will learn how to create their own designs and bring them to life with our 3D printer. Students will also have the opportunity to revise and reprint their creations, refining their work for the best possible result.
  • Cool Coding & Brilliant Builders

    Grades: K-2nd
    Dates: Thursdays (8 weeks) September 25-November 13
    Time: 3:30-4:15 p.m.

    Our brilliant builders will use technology tools and applications to become creative builders, coders and engineers. From Dash to Code-a-pillars, Ozobots, Scratch Jr., and more, our brilliant builders will explore a unique combination of great challenges and fun with Ms. Warren!
  • Genius Hour

    Grades: 3rd-5th
    Dates: Wednesdays (8 weeks) September 24-November 12
    Time: 3:30-4:15 p.m.

    Genius Hour invites students to explore, research and create around a topic they truly love. With teacher guidance, each child will choose an area of personal interest – such as a favorite animal, a sports team, a hobby or a special place – and learn how to safely and effectively explore information using the School’s research databases. Along the way, students will practice critical thinking, strengthen research skills and enjoy the freedom of following their curiosity. To conclude, each student will share their discoveries in a presentation format of their choice, from slideshows and posters to creative videos or other unique projects.
  • Hip Hop Dance Party!

    Grades: K-2nd
    Dates:  Thursdays (8 weeks) September 25-November 13

    From classic old-school moves to current trends, the boys will explore this energetic and expressive dance form while developing increased rhythmic coordination and creativity in a fun upbeat class.
  • Jr. Cross Country

    Grades: 3rd-5th

    Get ready to run and have fun with the Lower School Junior Cross Country Club! This after-school enrichment combines fitness with fun, helping kids build endurance, teamwork, and a love for running. Each session includes engaging drills, exciting games and friendly runs through our beautiful campus. Join us to explore the outdoors, make new friends and discover the joy of running at your own pace. No experience necessary — just bring your enthusiasm and a pair of running shoes!
  • Soccer Shots (JK & K)

    Grades: JK & K 
    Dates: Thursdays (8 weeks) September 25-November 13

    Soccer Shots is an engaging children’s program focusing on individual skill and character development. Players will be provided an opportunity to be challenged with soccer skill-building, fitness, fun games and team interaction. Children will also be introduced to competition in a developmentally appropriate manner. 
  • Soccer Shots (1st & 2nd)

    Grades: 1st  & 2nd
    Dates: Tuesdays (8 weeks) September 23-November 11

    Soccer Shots is an engaging children’s program focusing on individual skill and character development.   • Writing Wizards

    Grades: 3rd-5th

    Welcome to Writing Wizards, a place where words work like magic! In this class, students will practice the “spells” of strong writing: creating clear topic statements, adding supporting details and crafting powerful conclusions. They’ll also explore different writing styles — like storytelling, persuasive writing, and more — so they feel prepared for any writing task. With a touch of creativity and a lot of practice, our Writing Wizards will gain the confidence to turn their ideas into well-structured, engaging writing.
