VFB shuts out Cougars
Finishes regular season 7-3.
The varsity football team dispatched of Collegiate 38-0 Saturday, November 1 in a dominant performance.
StC (7-3) allowed only four total first downs to the Cougars (4-5), one by penalty, while the Saints racked up 20. The defense held Collegiate to 89 yards of total offense, while StC gained 384.
Aiden White '27 ran for 127 yards and two scores, including a 60-yarder that made it 23-0 with 11 minutes to go in the third period. Chase Roberts '26 went 15 for 25 for 171 yards and two scores, hitting JJ Tidwell '27 for a 44-yard TD then Andy Hingst '26 from 14 yards out for the final margin.
Finn Walter '26 scooped up a fumble on defense, and Elisha Asare '26 picked off a Cougars pass.
The Saints, seeded third, advance to the VISAA state playoffs and will travel to #2 Benedictine Saturday, November 8 for a 1 pm tilt.
