Varsity tennis defeated No. 1 seed St. Stephen's/St. Agnes 5-3 Thursday, May 14, advancing to the VISAA state championship.

StC, seeded fourth, will visit No. 2 Potomac School Saturday, May 16 at Noon. A win would give the Saints their seventh straight state crown.

St. Chris left the doubles portion of the match with a 2-1 lead as No. 1 Gray Dion '28-Loch Macfarlane '27 and No. 2 Crawford Barbour '30-Hayden Doyle '27 were victorious.

From there, the second half of the singles lineup took control. Dion and Barbour fell at No. 1 and 2, respectively, as No. 4 Doyle and No. 5 Ryland Willett '30 won quickly to make the match 4-3.

With Macfarlane trailing in a tight match at No. 3, No. 6 Gabe Faulstich '28 took the win sending the Saints to their familiar place - the championship round.
