Indoor Track places third in state meet
Relay teams pace Saints.
FULL MEET RESULTS
A strong relay performance gave the indoor track and field team a third-place finish in the VISAA state meet Saturday.
All three relay teams earned runner-up finishes for 24 of the Saints' 74 points. Will Abbott '13, Christian Braden '13, Ben Moore '15 and Joey Cuevas '16 ran the 4x800 relay; Abbott, Will Bruner '13, Christian Alcorn '13 and Sam O'Ferrall '13 handled the all-senior 4x400, and Ned Ukrop '13, Brandon Thomas '16, Alcorn and Grant Johnson '15 burned track in the 4x200.
Indidivually, Bruner placed third in the 1,000 and 1,600, while Alcorn and Thomas placed second and third, respectively, in the 300.
Fork Union won the meet, and Woodberry Forest placed second. The Saints will battle that duo again for Prep League honors Saturday, February 16 beginning at Noon in Bolling Field House.
