The Richmond Times-Dispatch named sophomore tennis star Gray Dion '28 All-Metro Player of the Year recently.

Dion is the first StC All-Metro POY pick since Will Thompson '22 accomplished the feat in 2021. Dion was also a first-team all-state selection and Prep League player of the year in 2026.

Dion has been a starter for the Saints since eighth grade, but leaped to the top of the ladder this season with the daunting task of leading the Saints with five new starters.

StC took its lumps early - three losses - but improved each time out. Eventually, the team won the Prep League and state VISAA tournament, pushing StC's state streak to seven.

Coach Pontus Hiort earned RTD coach of the year for leading this bunch back to the top of the VISAA mountain in what was supposed to be a rebuilding year.

Crawford Barbour '30 and Loch Macfarlane '27, StC's #2 and #3 players, were each named second-team All-Metro.

StC will return all of its starters from the 2026 campaign.
