The varsity outdoor track team dominated the VISAA State meet Saturday, May 16, more than doubling second-place's point total.

Once the dust settled and the trophy was officially handed to the victors, St. Christopher's coaches couldn't help but acknowledge how pivotal the Class of 2026 was to its success.

"They set the standards for excellence and hard work that I can only hope will continue for our program," head coach and VISAA Coach of the Year Marshall Ware said. "Beyond the victories, titles and records, their legacy will be one of love for competition, their school, and their teammates that has always been reflected in the way that they have conducted themselves."

Twins Elijah and Elisha Asare '26 saved their best for last. Elijah ripped off a personal best in the triple jump in the final jump of his career to win the title, going 42-5.5.

"When I hit the board I knew I was going to do [well]," Elijah said. "When I landed it felt like everything finally came together."

Same for Elisha. In his final 100-meter race he finally broke the 11-second mark, running 10.96 for fifth in a very fast dash. Maddox White '26 was second in 10.68. Elisha also PR'd in the 200 - placing fifth from Heat 1 - and teamed up with White, Parker McKay '27 and George Julias '26 to win the 4x100 title in 42.22.

White led off the 4x400 with McKay, Grayson Jones '28 and Coleman Mayer '27 placing second, but breaking the school record in 3:21.86.

Victor Olesen '26 won another pole vault title, and placed second in the 110 hurdles. Fellow senior George Julias placed second in the long jump at 22-5.75.

Seniors William Sutten and Henry Russell got in the mix as well, running the first two legs of the bronze 4x800 team with Noah Smith '27 and Jones.

The seniors leave the team in great hands with guys like 400 champ Coleman Mayer '27 (49.65), 800 runner-up Jones (1:56.35), 1600 silver medalist LT Nguyen '27 (4:28.65), and shot putters EJ Johnson '28 (3rd, 49-6.5) and Lance Clelland '27 (4th, 47-9) - behind second place senior James Segneri (54-4.5).

"It is always great to see realized potential and to see it rewarded," Ware said.
