Lacrosse battled PVI
Game tied at 4 entering final period.
The varsity lacrosse team gave a valiant effort but fell 12-6 to Paul VI in the VISAA State semifinals Thursday, May 14.
The Saints led 3-1 at halftime and were tied at 4 with the No. 1 seeded Panthers, but PVI put up a 5-1 run to start the fourth quarter and didn't look back.
Bowan Ireland '27 poured in three goals for the fourth-ranked Saints, James Ayers '26 had two and Clarke Dillard '27 scored another. Charlie Edmonds '26, T Gehring '27 and Dillard had an assist each.
The group will lose quality seniors, including VMI commits Ayers and Finn Walter '26 and Sewanee-bound Hank Mullins '26, but return a boatload of talent to make another run at a state title in 2027.
