Track performs admirably at national meet

4 x 800 almost equals state record time.
A collection of Saints track standouts qualified for the prestigious Easterns States Championships at the Armory in New York Tuesday, and handled themselves well.

The 4x 800-meter team of Sean Menges '16, Johnny Constable '15, Jack Jiranek '16 and Ben Moore '15 ripped off an 8:11.36, almost equaling their state record time a few weeks back. The group finished 16th out of 24 teams.

Tazle Sumpter '16 had a great throw of 50-0, earning 17th out of 29 competitors.

Brandon Thomas '16 and Ross Abrash '16 drew tough lane assignments in the 200, and couldn't make it to the final round.

The 4 x 400 team (Menges, J. Hunter Dabney '16, Abrash, Thomas) went 3:30.6 placing 15th of 20 teams. The team missed Joey Cuevas '16, who suffered calf cramps early in the early 1600 race and had to sit out the rest of the meet.
