At St. Anne’s Belfield, Pospahala was responsible for developing and implementing strength and conditioning programs for various student athletes. During his tenure at the University of Virginia, Shad was directly responsible for developing programs for the wrestling, men’s soccer, and men’s tennis teams. He assisted the head strength coach in the design and implementation of different programs for the University’s football team.

The Strength and Conditioning Program at St. Christophers School focuses on two primary objectives. The first is to prepare a young man’s body for the rigors of athletic competition while instilling an understanding of the importance of lifelong fitness. The second objective is to enhance athletic performance through the development of physical attributes: strength, speed, agility, stamina, and flexibility.

“We are so fortunate to have Shad Pospahala, a talented and accomplished coach, here to work alongside Bob Blanton in further developing our strength and conditioning program,” said Athletic Director Paul Padalino. “Shad’s passion and experience in this role, on both the collegiate and high school level, will help this program grow to even greater success. The addition of this position allows both Shad and Bob the opportunity and time to develop meaningful relationships with the boys. I am truly excited about the role Shad will play in helping all of our boys realize their potential.”

A graduate of Salisbury University, Posphala holds multiple national certificates in coaching, weightlifting, and strength training.
