Saints Start Undefeated

by Hil Butler '26
Through the opening week of the baseball season, the Saints remain undefeated, boasting a 5-0 record. The five wins include a 5-1 victory over Gilman, 2-1 over the Homeschool Team, 4-2 over Grace Christian, and 13-5 over Nansemond Suffolk Academy, and most recently, a hardfought 3-1 triumph over North Cross.

The bullpen, led by the Saints' sole captain, Christian Gray '26, has proven to be the deciding factor in many of their games. The Hampton-Sydney commit is coming off an impressive 6 inning, 13 strikeout performance against North Cross, and the pitching group as a whole, backed by a talented defense, has let up just 2 runs a game.

The batting lineup, led by Charlie Gunn '27, has brought home an average of 5.4 runners per game so far, with their most productive game being the 13 run performance against Suffolk. Jaerron Johnson '27 leads the way with stolen bases.

For their next matchup, the Saints will have a home game against Miller School, who currently have a 3-4 record, on Tuesday, March 24, 5:00pm.
