Henry Knighton '25 was named Prep League Player of the Year and first-team all-state, headlining four other Saints players and coach Tony Szymendera being honored for their efforts in the 2025 season.
Knighton went 8-1 with a 1.70 ERA for the 20-7, Prep League champions. Joining Knighton on the all-state team was Willie Hurt '25, a first-team selection, and Wally Jones '25, who made the second team.
Hurt, a shortstop, slugged a team-leading .475 and hit four home runs with 16 RBI. Jones hit .330 with 17 RBI, and also delivered three saves in relief with a 1.52 ERA.
The aforementioned trio also made the All-Prep League team along with Joseph Conner '25 and Christian Gray '26. Conner had a .989 fielding percentage at catcher while hitting .292.
Gray was StC's second starter, going 4-1 with a 1.37 ERA. He threw 8 innings of one-hit ball in the state quarters, going 6 2/3 without allowing a hit versus Flint Hill.
Coach Szymendera was named Prep League Coach of the Year, leading the team to the state semifinals.
