The varsity baseball team survived a scare from Trinity Episcopal, winning 2-1 in the state VISAA quarterfinals Tuesday.

StC (22-1), the tournament's top seed, will battle No. 5 Collegiate in the state semifinals Friday at Shepherd Stadium in Colonial Heights.

The Saints took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning on an RBI from Roanoke-bound Hunter Andrews '18, but the well went dry from there. TES scratched in a run in the top of the sixth to knot things up, setting the stage for Patrick Routsis '19.

The pitcher had already struck out 10 Titans. Will Atkinson '18 singled, Nick Biddison '18 was hit by a pitch and Donovan Murphy '18 walked to load the bases with one out for Routsis. He went up 3-0 and got two strikes before lifting a sacrifice fly to center field to clinch the contest.
