Wrestling boasts five state champs

Saints team runner-up for fourth straight season.
The varsity wrestling team finished second in the state VISAA tournament, its fourth straight runner-up finishes after taking an unpredecented 12 state championships in a row.

Though it fell short in the team competition, the Saints racked up five state champs, the most of any other program. 

Joey Prata '16 (120) took his third state crown, and Connor Alexander '19, Jackson Turley '19 (132), Tanner Hood '17 (160) and Carter Davis '18 (170) enjoyed their first state championship.

The Saints had seven wrestlers total in the finals. Gray Hart '18 (126) and Pope Whitley '16 (182) fell just short in their bid for their first title. Kameron Miller '16 (152) and Jens Ames '18 (195) earned bronze medals.

Bo Williamson '17 (138) qualified for National Preps, placing fourth.

"We have great kids that love to learn and work at this sport," coach Ross Gitomer said. "That is special."
