Our athletes benefit from the expertise of two full-time Strength and Conditioning coaches with varied experience at both the college and high school level.

  • Coach Bob Blanton

    Coach Bob Blanton was an Olympic weightlifter in the 1970s as well as a strength consultant to the NBA's Washington Bullets. In 1987, he coached Olympic lifts at University of Virginia, and in 1988 coached at the Olympic Training Center, helping prepare teams for the 1988 Olympic games. In 1990, Blanton became a National Strength and Conditioning Association certified strength and conditioning specialist and served as a consultant to the University of Richmond throughout the 1990s. He coached the Richmond Rage women's professional basketball team from 1996 to 1998. Blanton is owner of Total Training, Inc. and has coached numerous professional athletes from the MBL, NBA, pro tennis, NFL, WNVA, pro soccer (men's and women's) as well as college athletes in various sports.
  • Coach Keith Wright

    Coach Keith Wright began as assistant Strength & Conditioning coach at St. Christopher's in 2017. Armed with an Exercise Science degree from VCU, Wright is a certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, a USA Weightlifting Level 2 Coach and has worked with weightlifters of all ages, from 10- to 60-year-olds. Wright has worked under coach Bob Blanton since 2010 and works with athletes of all sports. He's been a huge hit with the middle school boys at StC, developing an intro program open to the entire middle school.

During the school year, the weight room is open the following times:

Monday - Friday
12:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Summer Lifting Hours

Monday-Friday
8-10 a.m., 3-5 p.m.
