Our academic camps can be taken just for fun, to get ahead or for review. We offer opportunities in many different areas and grade levels. Each class is sure to make learning different and exciting!
 
Academic Enrichment Camps are only offered in July and August 2023.

  • Read, Write, Ready!

    Rising 1st - 2nd Graders
    July 10 - 14

    Calling all bookworms! This week will be focused on developing campers’ language arts skills, including reading strategies to build familiarity and confidence, and writing activities to express creativity. Campers will get to explore literature and writing in centers, create their own stories, and participate in fun book-related art activities and games.

    Are you ready for some Phonics Fun? Students will engage in a week of fun playing with words and sounds, targeting and building the foundational skills that are necessary to become a successful reader.
     
    This literature based camp will provide students with an opportunity to develop their early reading skills through play based learning while also  . See how much fun phonics can be with various read alouds, BUILD projects, and hands on activities!

    Kindergarten here we come!  Whether you are new to StC or veteran StC JK student, join us as we play games, build together, and explore the exciting world of reading, writing, and math in Kindergarten. We’ll tour the Lower School and even play on the giant “big boy” playground! Enjoy this opportunity to make new friends and learn the ropes before school starts!

  • Middle School Summer Reading Bootcamp

    Rising 6th and 7th Graders
    July 10 - 14

    $225
    Our Summer Reading Bootcamp offers a fun way for students to spend time with friends, learn strategies for success in advanced English classes, and knock out a summer reading book with guidance by two recently graduated seniors and middle school librarian Ms. Cara Williams. Sessions will consist of periods for individual reading, interactive comprehension-based games, group instruction, and breaks for snacks and physical activity. Students should bring their required summer reading text, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and have fun with their friends.

There will be a focus on the transition from middle to high school, with pointers on marking texts and meeting the expectations of upper school teachers.

  • Bird's Eye View of 1st Grade

    This camp is for the birds! Rising first graders will practice reading, writing, math, and STEM skills all while learning some amazing facts about birds. Did you know that chickens are the closest relative to dinosaurs? Have you ever heard a bird talk exactly like a human? And how do different birds build their nests? We’ll learn all about these interesting creatures with fun art projects and activities!

    Algebra II Boot Camp focuses on improving skills and building confidence to help each student prepare for Algebra II. Students will review all major concepts from Algebra I through independent practice, small group activities, and one-on-one instruction.

    The Precalculus Prep Boot Camp focuses on improving skills and building confidence to help each student prepare for Precalculus. Students will review all major concepts from Algebra I and Algebra II through independent practice, small group activities, and one-on-one instruction. Right triangle trigonometry will also be reviewed.

  • Calculus Boot Camp

    Rising 11th - 12th Graders

    The Calculus Boot Camp focuses on improving skills and building confidence to help each student be prepared for Calculus. Students will review all major algebra concepts, as well as trigonometry through independent practice, small groups activities, and one-on-one instruction.
