Tuesday, September 30, the Saints took on Collegiate in their second game of the season, coming away with a hard-earned win 6-0 in a defensive battle.
The game remained scoreless until the final two minutes, when Jay Twine connected with DJ Smith on a 41-yard touchdown pass to give St. Christopher’s the lead and the win.
The Saints controlled time of possession for most of the game, which helped keep Collegiate’s offense off the field and gave St. Christopher’s more chances to make plays.
Head coach Stephen Lewis was encouraged by the team’s progress.
“We certainly saw some improvement in our second game,” Lewis said. “There are fundamental things we will continue to shore up this week, but we are happy with the progress.”
The Saints will be looking to build on this success in their next game against AJC, Wednesday, October 8 at home at 3 pm.
