Saints Share Title at Menno Classic

by Philip White '26
Over the weekend of Friday, September 19, the Saints traveled down to Harrisonburg to compete in the Eastern Mennonite Classic.

The Saints flew past Trinity Christian with a 4-2 victory in the quarterfinals. This win was a team effort with goals from senior Lukas Gordinier, senior Daniel Kehoe, sophomore Noah Daigneau, and sophomore Mason Groome.

This victory propelled the Saints to the semifinals where they were matched up against Trinity School Meadowview. After two goals from Evan Broughton '26, the Saints advanced to the finals with a 2-0 win.

On Saturday afternoon, the Saints faced their toughest tournament challenge yet, taking on Christchurch Episcopal for the Classic championship.

Jack Rickards ’26 put the Saints on the board early, but the Seahorses quickly answered with a goal of their own. Heavy rain forced the finals to be delayed and ultimately canceled, leaving the Saints and Seahorses to share the Menno Classic title.

The Saints next matchup is at Trinity Episcopal on Thursday, September 25 at 4:00 pm.
