This May, Walker Wallace '20 (pictured on the left with John Burke Jr. '14) helped Cornell win the NCAA Division I National Lacrosse Championship for the first time in 50 years. Wallace, a defensive starter, was also named first-team All-Ivy League and an honorable mention All-American as a long-stick midfielder.
“It was pretty surreal,” Wallace said. “It’s been 50 years since a lacrosse team won the national championship at Cornell, so it was great to be able to do that for all the alums,” he said.
Wallace picked up 19 ground balls and caused 11 turnovers, and also scored three goals. He credits much of his confidence and skills on the field to his years at StC. “When I stepped foot on Cornell’s campus, the lessons I learned at St. Christopher’s gave me the foundation I needed to earn respect from my team and my coaches,” Wallace said. “I was lucky to have mentors who still support me, and I’m still in touch with them. I’m definitely very grateful for the Saints community.” Read more.
