Afternoon Enrichment

Learning and Exploration beyond the Academic Day

St. Christopher’s Afternoon Enrichment program provides opportunities for learning and exploration beyond the academic day. Classes are open to all students in the Lower School and are offered in three sessions: Fall (September-November), Winter (January-March), and Spring (March-May).

Afternoon Enrichment is a separate program from Extended Day. All Lower School boys are welcome to register for Afternoon Enrichment. Students enrolled in Extended Day will be escorted to their classroom at the end of their Afternoon Enrichment class.

Afternoon Enrichment for boys in Kindergarten–2nd Grade

Begins at 3:30 p.m. (except for Soccer Shots).
Boys attending Extended Day

Go to their Extended Day classrooms at regular school dismissal and will be escorted to their Afternoon Enrichment class from there.
Boys NOT attending Extended Day

Should be picked up as usual in carpool and then returned for Afternoon Enrichment drop-off at 3:30 p.m.

On days when St. Christopher’s is closed, afternoon enrichment is also closed.
Refund requests must be made in writing.

3D Design & Printing

Grades: 3rd-5th

With Mrs. Richards, boys will explore the basics of 3D design and printing using Tinkercad. Through a variety of self-paced projects, they will learn how to create their own designs and bring them to life with our 3D printer. Students will also have the opportunity to revise and reprint their creations, refining their work for the best possible result.
Code Masters & Makers: Robotics & Design Lab!
Grades: K - 2nd

Coders and inventors, get ready to turn screen time into creation time! Join Ms. Warren after school to design, code, build, and bring your ideas to life.

Each week, students will explore coding, robotics, engineering, and digital fabrication through fun, hands-on challenges in the Design Lab.

What You’ll Explore:
- Coding: Use Scratch and Kodable to create animations, sequences, and interactive projects.
- Robotics: Program Sphero, Indi, and Dash robots to navigate mazes and complete challenges.
- 3D Fabrication: Design custom creations using the Glowforge laser cutter and engraver.
- Engineering & Building: Use LEGOs and recycled materials to design structures, obstacles, and extensions for robotic projects.

Dance Like MJ (1st/2nd)

Dance Like MJ! Learn the legendary moves of the King of Pop. Michael Jackson's signature dance style made a lasting impact on popular culture. Throughout this session boys will learn some of his most iconic dance moves following his evolution from the Jackson 5 funk to the sharp popping and locking of Billie Jean and Smooth Criminal and the theatrics of Thriller. They will work to develop sharp body isolations, quick footwork, precise musical timing, and athletic coordination, all while moving and grooving to their favorite Michael Jackson tunes.

This eight weeks will encompass a variety of drawing techniques and materials. We will learn how to make our drawings look 3D by using shade and light. Graphite, pastels, and colored pencils will be used to create amazing masterpieces!

Ready, set, BUILD! Take your LEGO® skills to the next level in this high-energy afterschool program designed for boys who love to create, problem-solve, and put their imaginations to work.
Each session brings a new building challenge—from constructing indestructible bridges and towering skyscrapers to designing secret spy gadgets and mythical creatures. Boys will explore advanced building techniques, structural engineering, teamwork, and creative storytelling along the way.
Whether racing custom-built dragsters or tackling a “zombie island” challenge, students will work together to design, build, test, and engineer their way to victory!
Paint & Ceramics
