Secretary - for each PA Board meeting, records all remarks and reports, tracks meeting attendance, distributes minutes and prepares meeting announcements.
Treasurer – tracks budget, prepares monthly statements, and disburses payments and reimbursements once approved.
Communications Chair – creates and coordinate distribution of monthly pushpages with the school’s director of communications, send out grade level email reminders and updates as requested by PA grade level reps.
Calendar Coordinator - serves as a clearing house for scheduling all Parents Association activties.
PA Lower School Representative - coordinates room parents, Grade Reps, mid-year play, and teacher appreciation events, chairs monthly room parents and parents meetings, and serves on PA Board as Lower School Divisions Rep and as liaison between the PA Board, Lower School Administration and Lower School parents.
Assistant PA Lower School Representative - serves on PA Board as Assistant Lower School Division Rep.
Room Parent - assists son’s teacher in coordinating classroom activities and mid-year play, with teacher appreciation events, and Fall Festival chairs with volunteer sign-up, and attends monthly room parent meetings. Room parents are selected randomly by mid-August using a lottery system.
Backpack Notes Editor - attends monthly parent meetings in the Lower School and takes notes. Edits notes into a pre-formatted newsletter to be distributed to Lower School parents.
Colonial Day Class Chair - (Rising third grade only) - assists son’s teacher in coordinating activities for fall Colonial Day.
Colonial Ball Chair - (Rising third grade only) - coordinates evening Ball for boys and their parents following Colonial Day.
Mid-year Play - helps with the mid-year play in the following areas:
Picture Day- assists Ellen Krauss on day of class pictures.
Teacher Hospitality- cooks, bakes or provides teacher treats when needed.
Coordinate Grade Activities Committee - works with Grade Rep to plan and coordinate student and/or parent activities with corresponding St. Catherine’s grade rep and committee, as appropriate, and Lower School Head.
Parent Education Chair – oversees the programs and committees described below to provide quality educational programs for parents in conjunction with the school, coordinates such programming with St. Catherine’s counterpart, and serves as a PA Board member.
Book Club Chair- with St. Catherine’s counterpart, provides at least one forum per year for parents to discuss books of interest with each other, reports to Parent Education Chair, works with Parent Resource coordinators and serves as a PA Board member.
Parent to Parent Chair– with St. Catherine’s counterpart, continues this popular program, encourages parent attendance at these educational opportunities and serves as a PA Board member.
Parent Resource Coordinator – will work with the Communications Coordinator, the Parent Resource Committee, the Parent Education Chair and St. Catherine’s counterpart to make parent education articles available to parents on the website and serves as a PA Board member.
Parent Resource Committee – will research articles, links and recommended books for inclusion on Parents page of the school website.
Parents Council of Richmond (PCR) Representative – will represent St. Christopher’s in this area-wide organization, attend three PCR Rep meetings and three speaker programs, and serve as a member of the PA Board where information about the PCR’s educational activities can be shared with the school.
