The varsity baseball team got its 2011-12 season off to a great start, topping Bishop Sullivan 8-7 and Cape Henry Collegiate 2-1 Saturday afternoon.
The Saints halted Sullivan behind a five-run fourth inning. Wolf Sarhan '14 knocked in three runs in a 2 for 4 effort while Cody Valenzuela '15 got the save in relief of winner Tyler Yeatts '12.
Porter Reinhart '13 went 3 for 4, including a double and RBI, and Jack English '13 knocked in two runs, scoring the likes of Charlie Yorgen '13 (two walks, two runs).
The junior triumphant was at it again in the game two win over Cape Henry.
English threw a complete game with six strikeouts from the mound. Yorgen was 2 for 2 at the dish with two runs, being knocked in both times by Reinhart.
The Saints return to action Friday, March 16 at 4:30 pm at Steward School.
