Wrestling boasts three All-Americans, finishes 18th

Wesley, Tarr and Janis finish in Top 8.
 
St. Christopher's left the National Prep Wrestling Championships with three All-Americans and an 18th-place finish out of 120 teams.
 
David Wesley '11 finished third at 152 pounds, Trey Tarr '11 seventh at 160 and Robert Janis eighth at 130.
 
Wesley, actually seeded third in the tournament, rolled into the semifinals and fell to eventual champion Marcus Cain (Mt. Hermon, NE) 5-4 in a heartbreaker. Then the U.Va-bound wrestler regrouped and halted Woodberry Forest rival Duke Pickett 2-1 for third place and a 4-1 tournament record.
 
Tarr, a ninth seed, wrapped the tournament with a 4-2 record, falling in the quarterfinal round to Bobby Burg, the eventual champion from Mercersburg of Penn.
 
And Janis '13, the youngster of the All-Americans, put the nation on notice of things to come. The sophomore went 2-3, but lost to the second-, third- and seventh-place finishers in the meet.
