English '13, Reinhart '13, Dunlevy '14 and Valenzuela '15 also honored.
Now that the baseball season has concluded, the honors are rolling in for the VISAA Division I state champions.
Shortstop Charlie Yorgen '13 earned the biggest of them all, being named VISAA state player of the year. Yorgen hit .333 with 14 RBI, 14 stolen bases, 13 walks and 24 runs, and was terrific in the field.
Outfielder Matt Dunlevy '14 was also named first-team all-state after batting a team-leading .405 this year. He had a triple in each of the state tournament wins.
Second-teamers were pitchers Jack English '13 (7-4, 2.57 ERA) and Cody Valenzuela '15 (8-2, 2.62 ERA).
Yorgen, English, Dunlevy and outfielder Porter Reinhart '13 (20 RBI, team-leading four homers) also garnered all-Prep League honors for the Prep League champions.
