Saints back in win column

Sherod '16 nets 41 as team puts up best performance of season.
Nick Sherod '16 dropped 41 points on 14-of-17 shooting to lead the varsity basketball team over Freedom of Woodbridge in the consolation bracket of the Henrico Holiday Hoops tournament Saturday.

Sherod put in 21 points in the first quarter, and 30 in the first half as the Saints led 45-23 at the break and never looked back.

It wasn't all Sherod.

The team defense was stout, keeping Freedom off of the foul line and out of transition. Wilson Bedell '15 and Eric Thompson '17 did a wonderful job of keeping the ball moving. Bedell had five assists and seven rebounds.

Justin Jasper '18 had his best game as a varsity player, putting in nine points on 4-of-6 shooting off the bench.

Now 7-2, the Saints will face Hermitage for fifth place Monday at 4 pm at Glen Allen High School.
