Prebish to coach at Cadet World Championships

Wrestling assistant coach will help the USA Greco Roman team in Slovakia this summer.
Varsity assistant wrestling coach Rob Prebish was selected to coach the USA Greco Roman team in the FILA Cadet World Championships in the summer of 2014 in Snina, Slovakia.

The championships will take place from June 15-20, 2014.

"I am both honored and humbled for the opportunity to coach some of the best wrestlers in the USA at the Cadet World Championships," Prebish said. "And to coach it with one of my heroes from when I was wrestling makes it even better. I am very excited for the upcoming experience in Slovakia this summer."

Prebish helped coach Saint Joey Prata '16 to the USA Wrestling Cadet Greco Roman national championship at 100 pounds this past July in Fargo, ND. He's currently the Virginia Cadet Greco head coach.

"It's a terrific honor...it recognizes his level of expertise," Saints coach and athletic director John Gordon said. "It's a national team. There were a number of people that were chasing this opportunity, college and high school coaches. For Rob to be selected to be a part of the staff is great for his own development as a coach, and it's good for his program and good for St. Christopher's School.

"This guy absolutely loves wrestling and lives it. For Rob to get the next-level opportunity is a great paycheck for all the time and effort and emotional energy he puts into it.

"It's a great example for our boys here at St. Christopher's.
