Saints lose battle for first place

Valiant comeback attempt falls short.
CHRISTCHURCH - The varsity basketball team almost shocked Christchurch again Tuesday night.

Down 45-30 with about four minutes left in the contest, the Saints cut the lead to two points before falling 54-51.

St. Chris overcame an 8-point deficit with 90 seconds left in the first meeting with the talented Seahorses, forcing and winning in OT.

CCS now has control of the Prep League with one loss. The Saints and Trinity Episcopal are in second place with two league losses. The two meet up to establish second place Thursday at 6 pm at TES.

Rodney Williams '13 led the Saints with a game-high 22 points, and freshman Nick Sherod added 17. Jack English '13 hauled in 10 rebounds, seven offensive. The Saints have two more games this week, also hosting St. Anne's-Belfield Friday at 6 pm.
