Students from across the Richmond area thoroughly enjoyed a speech from Google's Eric Schmidt Friday morning at St. Christopher's Bolling Field House.
Approximately 2,000 people, mostly talented students from St. Christopher's and St. Catherine's Schools, and many other area high schools, got a unique opportunity to take in thoughts from Google Executive Chairman Eric Schmidt Friday morning.
Schmidt, Google's CEO from 2001 to just recently, spoke about leadership, and the students' role in leadership in the coming years.
He also addressed the changing world as it relates to technology, and being able to harness new innovations while grasping traditional education, especially things as fundamental as reading books.
Schmidt held a question-and-answer period for 25 minutes after his speech, and graciously took pictures with students and spoke with others for nearly another 45 minutes after the conclusion of the event.
