Saints win third straight Rebel Invite

Sherod '16 (MVP), Petrie '17 pour in 30 points each.
Nick Sherod '16 and Alexander Petrie '17 poured in 30 points each as the varsity basketball team won the Rebel Invitational 76-59 Friday night over Albemarle.

The Saints moved to 3-0 on the season and won their third consecutive Rebel Invite title. Sherod won his third straight tourney MVP, and Petrie made the all-tournament team for the second straight time.

Trailing 6-0 early in the first period, the Saints reeled off a few big runs to take control of the game. Petrie buried a 3-pointer for a 20-17 lead early in the second period, and the Saints raced from there, scoring 53 points in the middle quarters.

Ameer Bennett '17 had a nice game off the pine, scoring eight points. The Saints return to action Wednesday at 7:30 pm at Steward.
