All-Metro POY: Brandon Jennings

Second to earn the title in the school's history.
Point guard Brandon Jennings '24 was named All-Metro Player of the Year by the Richmond Times-Dispatch for the 2023-24 season.

Jennings, a VCU pledge, led the Saints to a 25-8 record, a school-record for wins, while pouring in averages of 20 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals and 1 block per game. StC made the VISAA semifinals for only the second time in the school's history, as the 2015 outfit also achieved the feat.

The 6-4 do-it-all impacted the game on both ends of the floor, and finishes his career as the third all-time leading scorer in school history (1,391 points) behind Nick Sherod '16 (2,815) and Alexander Petrie '17 (2,017).

Sherod was named POY in 2016, and now Jennings earns the honor eight years later.

"It's hard to overstate just how significant his impact was on our team -- scoring, defense, passing, guarding the other team's best player, timely shot blocking," head coach Hamill Jones '00 told the Times-Dispatch of Jennings. "Brandon helped elevate his teammates to a higher level of play and made them better."

Fellow StC stars Sonny Bridges '25 and Darius Gray '26 earned honorable mentions.
