Big plays hurt football

Team loses in VISAA semifinals.
The varsity football team fell to Benedictine 21-10 Saturday, November 11 in the VISAA semifinals.

The Saints, seeded fourth, hung tough with the No. 1 Cadets but StC's effort was foiled by a 68-yard run late in the first quarter, and a 70-yard interception return near the end of the first half.

The Cadets led 14-0 at the break, but the Saints got going on a 30-yard field goal by Jack Slokker '24. Then Michael Farley '26 took a pass from Kahlil Nash '24 on fourth down and broke several tackles on the way to cutting the BCP lead to 14-10 with 7:52 left to play in the contest.

The Saints got a quick stop, but failed to move the ball. The Cadets then drove for the clinching touchdown.

Walker Turley '26 piled up 12 tackles from his linebacker spot to lead the Saints. EB Brandon '26 added seven, and Darius Gray '26 six with a sack, 2.5 tackles for loss and a forced fumble.

Offensively, Farley also ran for 74 yards on 19 carries. Jacob Zollar '24 nabbed six passes for 104 yards, including a 55-yarder that set up Slokker's FG.
