Strong Second Week in Stokesville

by Riley Mullins '24
The Saints had another solid performance on the trails in Race #2 at Stokesville.

The race involved two laps and a total distance of 6.6 miles. The challenging course tested the racers technical skills with climbing, steep rocky climbs and fast, flowy descents.

"The dusty, dry, loose conditions added additional challenges for the riders," said coach Kimberly Mayer.

In the JV Boys Division, senior Logan Amey placed 9th and is 8th overall after two weeks. Junior Porter Valerie finished 18th, 2 spots ahead of last week and is 17th after two weeks. Junior Charles Herlihy jumped an impressive 7 spots to finish 21st and is 20th overall after two weeks.

In the JV Girls Division, junior Claire Tobin moved from 15th to 11th and 11th overall after two weeks. Junior Riley Torrence is ranked 15th after two weeks. In the Sophomore Boys Division William Sutten battled to finish 12th after dealing with a mechanical issue on the trail, and is 8th overall after two weeks. Ford White made an impressive jump from 18th to 13th and is 14th overall after two weeks. Matthew Covington persevered to finish, despite an injury suffered in the first lap

The next race for the Saints is Saturday, October 21 at Woodberry Forest School.
