Honoring Black History Month

StC's Middle School is honoring Black History Month in ways that engage and challenge our boys.
MS Librarian Cara Williams organized a weekly scavenger hunt to find informational posters around the school about Black historical figures. Meanwhile, sixth grade boys in Derek Porter's Global Thinking class held group discussions regarding racism, Black history in the United States, and the significance of Black History Month.

On Friday, MS Missionary Society President Edward '26 spoke in chapel to highlight the life of the iconic singer and musician Stevie Wonder. "I really like his music, and he's done a lot of good," he said. Wonder's song "Happy Birthday" became symbolic of the movement to make Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday a national holiday.
