The varsity baseball team continues to make history, placing four players on the All-Metro first team, the most in school history.

The group is led by All-Metro player of the year Griffin O'Ferrall '21. The UVA-bound shortstop shared POY honors with future UVA teammate Jay Woolfolk (Benedictine).

O'Ferrall hit .449 with five home runs and 26 RBIs in 2021, and was also named Prep League, VISAA and Gatorade player of the year this summer.

Carter Schmitt '22, Harrison Coble '21 and Cam Nuckols '21 joined O'Ferrall on the first team, as the Saints went 22-1-1 in 2021.

Schmitt, a Randolph-Macon commit, hit .451 and tied a school record with 41 RBI.

Coble was 7-0 on the mound and hit .463 for the Saints. He had an ERA of 2.44, and will play at Pittsburgh.

Nuckols also went 7-0 and had a minuscule 0.59 ERA in 2021, striking out 65 batters in just over 35 innings pitched. He's committed to VCU where his dad and St. Chris pitching coach Tommy Nuckols also played.

The parallels don't stop there. The elder Nuckols made first-team All-Metro for Clover Hill in 1990, also as a pitcher.
