Junior Kindergarten Teacher Recognized for Experience and Expertise
StC Lower School teacher Margaret Hunter is named the John Page Williams Chair of Distinguished Teaching.
“I feel so lucky. I feel like I was dropped into the right place at the right time,” said Junior Kindergarten Teacher Margaret Hunter. Hunter, who’s taught at StC for 27 years, was recently named as the John Page Williams Chair of Distinguished Teaching.
Hunter is honored and particularly looks forward to her role as an experienced mentor for new educators and to “help the new teachers who are coming in to feel respected, feel heard and be successful in their new role as a part of the community,” she said.
The love of teaching boys and the connections she has made at StC have sustained her through the years. “I can’t see myself doing anything else,” she said. “Teaching at St. Christopher’s is not a job for me, this is part of my family.”
