VIDEO: StC Summer Reading Camp Supports Young Learners

Students at the UVA Reading Adventures Camp gain reading skills and confidence in a unique StC partnership.
A good book can change someone’s life. For young people, reading provides a strong foundation for lifelong learning, communication skills, vocabulary skills and developing imaginations.

Over the summer, small groups of students in our UVA Reading Adventure program received specialized reading support to build reading expertise and confidence. The program, which is a partnership between The Peter Paul Development Center, University of Virginia's Curry School of Education and St. Christopher’s School, also provides real-world training opportunities for UVA graduate student reading specialists.

This program promotes literacy, gives young learners a chance to explore topics that interest them, and helps them grow confidence in their reading skills.
