Saints Dominate Bishop Ireton to Close Out Road Trip

STC Scores in Double Digits for the Second Straight Game.
The Varsity Lacrosse team certainly responded well to their overtime defeat to Episcopal, as the Saints followed their overnight stay in Alexandria with an explosive performance against Bishop Ireton. The Saints won 16-4, and were in control the duration of the match.

A flurry of first quarter goals found St. Chris up 7 to 1, and they were cruising from the first to the last period. The Saints defense played exceptionally, in addition to not facing a very potent Cardinals offense. The game's standout was Walker Wallace '20, who started and spent the entire game in the cage. Coach John Burke decided to rest Michael Chapman '18, the starting keeper, who kept the Saints in the Episcopal grudge match the day before, and Wallace made the most of his playing time by making more than his fair share of impressive saves. While Luke Valentine '19 scored six of the Saints' thirteen goals against Episcopal, against Ireton the Saints had a multitude of scorers.

The sharing of offense and impressive response following a close defeat is a very good sign for the Saints, and they look to put together back to back wins in their next game, at home against Potomac High School on Tuesday, March 27th.
