2017 All-Prep Football Team

Seven Saints named to the team, three will play in All-Star Game Dec. 16.
ALL-PREP LEAGUE TEAM

Seven football players were named to the 2017 All-Prep Football team.

Five of the selections were primarily defensive players.

- William Tappen '18, DE: Fourth on the team in tackles with 37. Led the team with 13 tackles for loss and 6 sacks.

- Charlie Boggs '19, LB: Racked up a team-high 81 tackles, 11 for loss. Had 3 sacks and 8 pass breakups.

- Daymone Fleming '19, LB: Second on the team in tackles with 74, 10 for loss. Forced and recovered a fumble, and blocked an extra-point that won the St. Stephen's/St. Agnes game.

- Will Forrest '18, DB: After picking off five passes in 2016, the safety was rarely tested but had four breakups. Totaled 21 tackles.

- Brady Mattson '19, DB: Took over at corner after a few games and had 34 tackles and a pick-six at FUMA. Also broke up four passes.

Senior captains Henry Schroeder and Jens Ames are StC's other two selections, Schroeder at offensive line and Ames as an athlete.

- Jens Ames '18, RB/DE: Totaled 12 tackles, five for loss, and three sacks from his part-time defensive end spot. Washington & Lee commit will run the football only in college, and had 80 carries for 513 yards (6.4 per carry) and six TDs.

- Henry Schroeder '18, OT: The JMU-pledge paced the offensive line to almost 3,000 yards of total offense.

Tappen, Schroeder and Forrest have one last high-school game, as each will play for the North in the Big River Rivalry Saturday, Dec. 16 at Randolph-Macon. The game begins at 1 pm, and tickets will be sold at the gate.
