On Monday, September 11 the Beaux Ties sang the National Anthem at the Goochland Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squad's 9/11 memorial service. The themes for the evening were "we will not forget" and "unity." 

Upper School faculty member Billy McGuire has served as a member of the Goochland squad for 28 years. 

The 9/11 memorial at the station was built by John Waechter '96, who is the uncle of Michael Chapman '18, a member of the Beaux Ties. Other Saints at the station for the memorial were Lukas Geissbuehler '12, J.P. McGuire '12 and Sallie Gilmore (St. Catherine's) '16.
