Bemiss '16 part of Valley League champs

Summer League team posted best regular-season record.
You could say Jeb Bemiss '16 had a summer to remember.

The rising sophomore at Cornell spent part of his summer playing for the Charlottesville TomSox in the Valley Baseball League. He helped the TomSox to a 32-10 record, the best mark in the history of the league that began in 1897. The TomSox went on to win the championship 2-1 over Strasburg on August 8.

In the 17 innings pitched, Bemiss struck out 13 batters and went 1-0 in three starts.

Baseball wasn't the only thing Bemiss did. He also had a host family in Charlottesville and participated in a summer internship with Locus Health, a healthcare information technology firm.
