OAR of Richmond Picks up Bikes from Bike Drive

Boys help load truck full of over 150 bikes donated by the community
During the month of April, members of our community donated old bikes to be refurbished and given to Richmond area children and adults in need. The response was overwhelming, such that the school collected approximately 150 bikes.

OAR of Richmond, an organization that helps people re-enter life after a period of incarceration, visited our campus in May to pick up the bikes. Upper School boys helped OAR Case Manager Simon Valencia load the bikes into a u-Haul headed for Rag and Bones Bicycle Cooperative for refurbishing. Once they are refurbished, the bikes will be put in the hands of those who will use them to get to work. Donations of kids bikes will go to children who might not otherwise enjoy learning how to ride a bike.

Thank you to the community for supporting this initiative!
