The varsity wrestling team took 3rd place at the Melee on the Metro II on Saturday in Washington, DC. Nine Saints placed despite the fact that the team was without five of its starters.

Trey Ashby '18, Gray Hart '18, John Flood '19, and captain Tanner Hood '17 all took second place in their respective weight clasees. Carter Davis '18 and Jens Ames '18 finished third.

Our Lady of Good Counsel (MD) won the tournament and St Benedict's Prep (NJ) took second place.

The Saints will wrestle in the VISAA state tournament on Friday and Saturday the 17th and 18th at the Arthur Ashe Center, right next to the Diamond. Wrestling starts at 4 PM on Friday and 9 AM on Saturday.

The finals matches should begin at 3 PM on Saturday.
