1911 Society Lilo and Scott Ukrop '81 have a longstanding relationship with St. Christopher’s, one that began when Scott came to St. Christopher’s in the 5th grade.
As the parents of three Saints, Polly ’11 (St. Catherine’s), Ned ’13, and Mac ’16, both Scott and Lilo have served stints on the Board of Governors, and last year the couple became a part of the 1911 Society.
“Without planned giving, it would be difficult to have a wonderful athletic facility that allows us to host track meets, or the incredible Arts Center. Generosity creates an environment for all of the boys at St. Christopher’s to find their place, whether on the athletic field, the stage, or in the classroom,” Mrs. Ukrop said.
The Ukrops are quick to praise the personal connections their entire family have made at the School. “Teachers, coaches, and mentors are often all within the same person,” Mr. Ukrop said, “and the values and honor that were modeled for me became the base of my education.”
And while their deep family connections with St. Christopher’s provide no shortage of happy memories, their support of the School has the couple looking to the future, as well.
“In the 35 years that I have been living in Richmond,” Mrs. Ukrop said, “I’ve seen the city change, and I hope that St. Christopher’s will continue to grow to reflect and be of service to the community that we live in while holding strong to its traditions and values.”
