Olesen '26 U20 National Champ
Pole vault sensation sets multiple records in win.
Victor Olesen '26 won the pole vault at the U20 Nike/USATF Outdoor Nationals in Oregon June 19.
His height of 18 feet set new high school records at St. Christopher's and in Virginia, and is the best vault in the United States for a high schooler in the 2025 season.
After clearing 17-5 in his second attempt, Olesen was down to his third and final attempt at 17-9 with the championship on the line. An opponent, Caelan Harland, had cleared 17-5 in only one attempt, putting him ahead of Olesen.
Victor came up clutch, conquering the height, while the rest of the competition failed at 17-9.
With the title in hand after two attempts failed at 18-0, he again prevailed in record-setting fashion for his first personal-best in about 12 months. His previous record was 17-9.
