Victor Olesen '26 was named Gatorade Virginia Boys Track & Field Player of the Year for the second consecutive season.
Olesen clinched the award in part with his second straight USATF U20 Championship, leaping 18 feet to break his own state record and take the No. 1 ranking among high-school boys in the spring of 2025.
He is just the 14th U.S. prep vaulter to clear 18 feet - ever.
"Victor is thoughtful and modest, but unafraid," track coach Marshall Ware said. "He relishes competition, but celebrates others' achievements as well as his own."
Only Griff O'Ferrall '21 has also earned the Gatorade honor in StC history, as the baseball star achieved the feat following his senior season. Olesen has one more year of studies left at St. Christopher's.
