Soccer on three-game win streak

2-1 win over No. 5 Cape Henry highlight of weekend
The varsity soccer team looks more and more like a team to be reckoned with come playoff time.

The Saints delivered a 2-1 road win over a tough Cape Henry Collegiate team Friday, then returned home less than 24 hours later and held off Steward 1-0.

Sometimes, after winning emotional games it is tough to refocus in such a short period of time, but coach Jay Wood's guys pulled it off, going 3-0 on the week.

The Saints are sure to climb from their No. 7 state ranking when the next poll is released.

In the CHC win, Porter Reinhart '13 scored in the 59th minute and Will Abbott '13 buried a goal off a nifty feed from freshman Pierce Edlich for the game-winning goal.

Against Steward on Fall Festival, three seniors teamed up for the only goal the Saints would need. Andrew Fernandez went across the field and found Abbott's head, who crossed to Reinhart for the pretty assist.

The team will visit rival Collegiate at 4 pm Tuesday looking to continue their momentum.
