Soccer second in Soucek Tourney

Reinhart, Abbott named to all-tournament team.
The varsity soccer team took second place in Christchurch's Soucek Tournament, losing to the host school 2-0 Saturday afternoon.

The Saints won a thriller over Pope John Paul the Great 3-2 in penalty kicks after the game ended in a 3-3 tie Friday. Doug West '13, Porter Reinhart '13 and Baxter Carter '14 scored for the Saints.

Midlfielder John Fergusson '15 deposited a cross from Reinhart at the 47-minute mark to put STC past Bishop Sullivan Catholic to reach the championship game early Saturday.

The Saints fell 2-0 to Christchurch in the final later Saturday. Reinhart and fellow co-captain Will Abbott '13 were named to the all-tournament team, with four other Saints receiving votes.

Up next is the home opener for STC, Tuesday at 4:30 pm versus Walsingham Academy.
