ALEXANDRIA - The varsity football team delivered the knockout blow in the first quarter, leading 19-0 before six minutes elasped in the contest, gaining its second win on the season 34-13 over St. Stephen's-St. Agnes Saturday afternoon.

On its first drive, StC marched easily, capped by an 18-yard swing pass from Giles Thompson '14 to Blair Farinholt '12. The senior captain scored on his first touch of the season and had five receptions for 57 yards.

Then Jack English '13 recovered an SS/SA fumble and three plays later caught a rocket from Thompson for a score. Thompson finished 15 for 25 for 227 yards, three TDs and an interception, hitting seven receivers.

A big punt return from Cameron Barlow '12 (116 all-purpose yards) set up the next Saints TD, an 11-yard plunge from Ganon Hingst '14.

SS/SA opened up its passing game from there and started to find its talented skill players, but the Saints defense was up to the task forcing three interceptions (Garrett Taylor '15, John Fiorelli '14, Sam O'Ferrall '13).

Next up is the home opener, a 1 p.m. tilt versus St. Anne's-Belfield at Knowles Field where one team will get its first loss.

The STAB Saints are 1-0 after a 36-0 victory over Virginia Episcopal, while the StC Saints are 2-0.
