FULL RESULTSYou would be hard pressed to find as dominant a team track and field performance.
The varsity outdoor track and field team obliterated the field at the Prep League Championship at Fork Union Saturday, May 9. To eclipse StC's team score of 209, you would have to combine the four team scores from second through fifth place.
Impressive.
The Saints took home eight Prep League crowns, including Runner of the Meet Grayson Jones '28 winning the 1600-meter run and placing second in the 800.
Coleman Mayer '27 won the 400, LT Nguyen '27 took home the 3200, and Henry Nelson '27 outbattled Victor Olesen '26 for the 110 hurdles title, while Benjamin Mayer '27 took down Nelson in the 300 hurdles.
StC won both of the relays it entered in the 4x100 (George Julias '26, Maddox White '26, Parker McKay '27, Elisha Asare '26) and 4x800 (Nguyen, Langdon Sexton '29, William Sutten '26, Henry Russell '26).
In the field events, Olesen was StC's only champ, in pole vault with senior Ryan Scammell PR'ing at 12-0 to get third.
However, the Saints went 2-3-4 in the throws (shot put, discus) behind James Segneri '26, Walter Cart '26, Lance Clelland '27 and EJ Johnson '28, and Colin Wishnack '27 (triple jump) and Julias (long jump) pulled out silver medals.
White, a VCU pledge, got second in the 100 and 200, and Asare was third in both events.
The boys return to FUMA Saturday, May 16 looking for the state crown.
