Luke Valentine '19 scored six goals, and the Saints defense was staunch throughout, in a 15-3 victory at Atlee Wednesday night in a battle of unbeaten teams.
StC, ranked first in the Times-Dispatch Top 10 and the VISAA poll, moved to 13-0, while No. 2 Atlee lost its first game of the season, dropping to 10-1.
The Saints controlled play from the outset, going up 5-0 at the end of the first period, as each goal was scored by a different Saint - Valentine, Will Tazewell '20, Gill Williamson '20, Jack Horsley '19 and VMI-bound Hartley Jordan '19.
StC led 9-1 at halftime and 13-2 going into the fourth. Sewanee commit Jack Westfall '19 put in three goals, and Jordan and Williamson had two.
When the Raiders did get into StC territory, it was a tough go. Cornell commit Walker Wallace '20 stopped 13 shots behind a stout defensive lineup that included Brady Mattson '19, George Hodgson '20, Cole McCoy '20 and Spalding Hall '21.
Up next for StC is a visit to Albemarle Friday at 6 pm.
